I never really liked mobile games, they all seemed shallow and filled with ads. I downloaded Sky out of curiosity, it looked like it had beautiful graphics - and I’m so glad I did.
I’ve had Sky for over a year and a half. I’ve met a lot of people and introduced a lot of friends to the game. I have a lot of stories I could tell. I chose this one because I think it describes my favourite aspect of Sky - not the incredible visuals, soaring music or the wonderful storyline - but the kindness of strangers in the community.
Sometimes, when I’m sad, I go to Hidden Forest and sit in the rain. The colours, music, and sounds of rain are calming, as I sit and watch my skykid slowly losing light. Their cape gently fades as the colour washes out and they blend into the familiar depths of the forest. It's beautiful and strangely comforting.
That day, a stranger came and sat next to me. They didn't try to friend me, or talk to me, they just sat down and opened their umbrella to protect us from the chill of the forest. I could still hear the rain, but it sounded different from under the umbrella, like we were in a tent. My skykid's light returned, recovering from the warmth of the stranger. They sat with me like that, until I had to go. The kindness of this stranger, stopping their candle run just to sit with me and protect me from the rain, without even knowing why I was doing it, made me so happy.
I friended them, but we don't see each other very often. Every time I see them though, I’m reminded of their kindness and spam them with happy emotes! I have many stories I would gladly share here, of my experiences with this beautiful game and its community, but this was the one that immediately came to mind. I’m not a very sociable person, I don't have many close friends and I usually prefer to play Sky alone. That's part of why I love Sky so much - it provides an opportunity to be kind to strangers without having to talk!
Thanks for the opportunity to experience such an incredible game – I cannot emphasise enough how much I love it!
